Luther Hodges will represent him in Washington at the Presidential inauguration. . . . . Rep. Brantley of Polk Coun ty has introduced a bill in the legislature to extend the jurisdic tion of the Tryon ABC enforce ment officers to include all Polk County requiring them to work in close harmony with the sheriff . . . WEDNESDAY: Annual meeting Congregational Church at 7 p. m. AURSDAY: Music meeting at 2 . *m. Tryon school. Three Parent Teachers meetings Thursday night. Mill Spring at 7:30 with Mrs. W. W. Breazeal in charge; Stearns in Columbus at 7:30 with Paul t-umerson ana iryon at a p. m., with George Dusenbury in charge. FRIDAY: At 10 a. m., Mission Study at Congregational Church; 1 p. m. Rotary; 7 p. m. Tryon Methodist Felowship Pot Luck Supper with all members bring covered dish and their own plates and silver for the number in their party. At 8 p. m- Bird lovers will hear a lecture at the Congre gational Church House. And there are many other things including committee meetings, movies and basketball games. | THE EYES HAVE IT Dr. Emil Smith will be in charge of the Tryon Rotary Club [ program Friday at 1 p. m., at i Oak Hall and will have as his guest speaker, Dr. Gordon Graham, Tryon optometrist, who will speak on some form of optometry. TRYON TAKES TWO j The Tryon cagers took both ends of a double-header at Cowpens J Tuesday night. Tryon’s lassies, led by Myrna Constance, took a 38-18 decision, while the boys gained a 54-44 win, as Hugh Hines drop ped in 18 points. Friday night Tryon plays host to Chesnee at 7:30 in what should I be a top-notch affair. Line-ups for Tryon: Girls, Constance 17; Hancock, 2; Dedmondt, 12; Moon, Black well, Edwards, Ormand 1 ; Ritchey, 5; Alewne 1; Staggs, Chapman, L. Bradley. S. Bradley, Thompson. Bovs, Biedler 8; B. Hines 11; H. Hines 18: Head 3; Ross 9; Gallimore, Gantt, Ormand 1; Newhnll Ashley, 4; Parker.— School Reporter. HOSPITAL NEWS A son was born Jan. 13 at 2:08 p. m., to Mr. and Mrs. R. T. West moreland of Landrum. Mrs. E. L. Bishop of Tryon is also a patient. There were no discharges. PARENTS INVITED. TOO Mrs. Clarence Rhodes, Tryon music teacher, states that all par ents are also invited to attend the meeting1 of elementary school teach ers in the Tryon school music room Thursday afternoon at 2 to hear State Music Supervisor Arnold E. Hoffman of Raleigh.
